Falana seeks prosecution, recovery of N33.75bn meant for poor Nigerians

Human rights lawyer Femi Falana has urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate the failure to account for N33.75 billion intended for vulnerable households. The Auditor-General's 2024 Annual Report indicated that the Federal Government could not provide sufficient evidence that the funds reached genuine beneficiaries. Falana noted that these funds were meant for over 3.29 million households under the National Social Investment Programme.
