In Côte d’Ivoire, Affi N’Guessan takes the lead of a reshuffled coalition

Pascal Affi N'Guessan, former Prime Minister, was appointed president of the Coalition for Peaceful Alternation in Côte d'Ivoire (CAP-CI) on June 4, 2026, following a reform adopted on May 7, 2026. He succeeds several opposition figures, including Simone Gbagbo and Tidjane Thiam, who left the platform after the October 2025 presidential election. The new organizational structure includes a Conference of Presidents, a general secretariat, and several specialized vice-presidencies.
