Heads of the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank Group and the World Food Programme discuss effects of the war in Middle East

Le leaders of the IMF, WBG, and WFP convened to discuss the economic and food security impacts of the war in the Middle East. They noted that the conflict is disrupting global energy markets, leading to rising prices for oil, gas, and fertilizers, which will exacerbate food insecurity, particularly in low-income economies. Governments already burdened with debt will struggle to protect vulnerable households amid this crisis.
