France: A hair smoothing product imported from Brazil causes acute renal failure, sale suspended

Following a report from ANSES, a case of acute renal failure was identified in a young woman after using the product 'Lissage Indien Queen Care Indiana', which contains over 18% glyoxylic acid. The Val-d'Oise prefecture has suspended its sale and inspected two websites as well as a shop in Bezons. Authorities recommend that hairdressers immediately stop using this product and inform consumers.
