Hezbollah rejects US-backed Israel-Lebanon ceasefire

Hezbollah has emphatically rejected the US-backed ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon. Its leader Naim Qassem called the negotiations 'futile' and 'humiliating' for Lebanon. The deal requires the evacuation of Hezbollah operatives from the border area and the creation of pilot zones under exclusive control of the Lebanese army. Residents of Beirut's southern suburbs expressed doubts, calling it a surrender agreement.
