Anthropic urges AI labs to pause, warns humans risk losing control

In a blog post on Thursday, Anthropic highlighted the risks of 'recursive self-improvement,' where an AI could design its own successor. OpenAI responded by arguing that democratic governments, not private companies, should determine the rules, safeguards, and accountability mechanisms.
