Senegal Maintains the Price of a Kilogram of Groundnuts at 305 CFA Francs

Prime Minister Ahmadou Al Aminou Mohamed Lô announced that the price of a kilogram of groundnuts would remain at 305 CFA francs during a meeting with industry representatives at the Prime Minister’s Office. He urged the government to prepare for the 2026–2027 groundnut season by finalizing agreements, opening collection points and strengthening quality controls. Ministers were also tasked with finding buyers for 70,450 tonnes of groundnut cake held by Sonacos and finalizing a state-UNACOIS protocol on customs support. Financing needs for the 2026–2027 agricultural marketing campaign are estimated at more than 200 billion CFA francs, and Lô called for outstanding payments from the agricultural season to be settled.
