Fasoranti died peacefully in his sleep, says son

Pa Reuben Fasoranti, veteran Afenifere leader and prominent Yoruba figure, died peacefully in his sleep on October 20, 2026, aged 100, his eldest son, Taiwo Fasoranti, said. The Ondo State Government Secretary said the family wanted to celebrate his longevity and influence rather than mourn him. He described his father as wise, firm and devoted to education, noting that he continued visiting one of his schools until a few weeks before his death. Taiwo urged Nigerians to honour his legacy through education, selflessness and community service.
