Zimbabwe Govt Reveals What Happened Moments After Chivayo's Helicopter Crash

Preliminary findings by the Zimbabwean government revealed that fuel spilled upon impact of the helicopter carrying billionaire Wicknell Chivayo, followed by a fire that burned the surrounding grass. The crash occurred in Marondera on September 30, 2026, killing all six onboard, including Chivayo, his wife Lucy Muteke, her aide, and two pilots. Investigators recovered the aircraft's black box to help determine the cause of the crash, which happened about 40 minutes after departing from Gandami, Chikomba.
