Morocco Allocates $5.36 Billion to Support Purchasing Power

Morocco's Minister of Economic Inclusion, Younes Sekkouri, announced the allocation of MAD 49.7 billion ($5.36 billion) by the end of 2026 to support purchasing power and reduce social disparities. This initiative includes an increase in the guaranteed minimum interprofessional wage from MAD 14.81 to MAD 17.90 per hour, and a rise in the agricultural minimum wage from less than MAD 1,900 to MAD 2,400. Sekkouri emphasized the importance of social dialogue in building trust between institutions and social partners.
