DCI Uncovers Fake SHA Registration Scheme Used to Target Mobile Money Accounts

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) uncovered a SIM-swap fraud scheme where individuals posed as officials from the Social Health Authority (SHA) to obtain personal information. The suspects, including a woman and two men, targeted the elderly in areas such as Mwea and Machakos. The collected information was allegedly used to carry out SIM swaps, giving the fraudsters access to victims' mobile money accounts.
