"It is imperative to...": Diomaye Faye's strong response after the death of Abdoulaye Ba

Following the death of student Abdoulaye Ba at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye announced a complete overhaul of the Senegalese higher education system. He highlighted weaknesses such as overcrowding and insufficient infrastructure. Faye also mentioned the implementation of the National Agenda for the Transformation of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation (ANTESRI) to modernize education. Performance contracts have been signed with public universities to ensure a return to a normal academic year.
