Illegal migration: A network dismantled in Ziguinchor, over 200 candidates preparing to depart for Spain

The regional branch of the DNLT in Ziguinchor referred several individuals involved in an irregular migration network to the prosecutor's office on April 9, 2026. The network, led by a foreign national currently on the run, had organized nearly 200 candidates for a collective departure scheduled for April 10, 2026. Law enforcement apprehended several suspects on Boudody beach and seized a boat along with two outboard motors. The suspects admitted their involvement, stating it was their fourth attempt since 2025.
