In Goma, James Swan reaffirms MONUSCO's commitment to the ceasefire in North Kivu

James Swan, head of MONUSCO, reaffirmed the mission's commitment to supporting the ceasefire in North Kivu during a 72-hour visit to Goma. He met with representatives of the AFC/M23 and the Extended Joint Verification Mechanism Plus. Swan called for better coordination of peace initiatives, particularly those from Washington, Doha, and the African Union. MONUSCO remains ready to support the implementation of these efforts.
