India: Family Dies After Consuming Watermelon Contaminated with Rat Poison

Four members of the Dokadia family in Mumbai died after consuming a watermelon contaminated with zinc phosphide, a rat poison. The victims, including Abdullah Dokadia and his wife Nasreen, exhibited severe symptoms before being admitted to the hospital. Police are investigating the source of the contamination, which could be accidental or intentional. A similar incident was reported in 2023 in the state of Bihar.
