INFRASTRUCTURE GAP: Engineers urge use of pension, Sukuk funds

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) stated that the country's budget cannot meet its infrastructure needs, requiring at least N200 trillion over the next 30 to 40 years. NSE Deputy President Valerie Agberagba suggested that domestic funding sources such as pension funds and Sukuk bonds should be utilized to bridge this gap. At the West Africa Infrastructure Expo in Lagos, she emphasized the importance of prioritizing domestic funding before seeking foreign investments.
