Insecurity: You have right to defend yourselves, Bwala tells Nigerians

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, stated that Nigerians are constitutionally empowered to defend themselves against attackers, including in lethal threat situations. He made these remarks during an interview on Arise Television, responding to recent violent incidents, including killings in Esiele community and the abduction of teachers and pupils at LA Primary School. Bwala also emphasized that firearm possession is regulated by law and that citizens can apply to the government for the right to organize collectively for their defense.
