Ban on Certain Categories for Motorcycle Taxis in Kinshasa

The provincial assembly of Kinshasa has passed an ordinance banning certain categories of motorcycle taxi users, including children under 12, pregnant women in their last trimester, intoxicated individuals, and unaccompanied elderly people. Initiated by provincial deputy Nicolas Wemankoy, this ordinance was unanimously adopted and aims to reduce accidents related to motorcycle taxis. Riders who violate these rules face penalties, including fines and impoundment of their vehicles, with a sensitization period planned before the enforcement of sanctions.
