Involve traditionalists in formulation of policies, national issues - ICIR appeals to Tinubu

President of the International Council for Ifá Religion (ICIR), Dr Fayemi Fatunde Fakayode, appealed to the federal government to involve traditional religion adherents in policy formulation and national dialogues. Speaking at the World Ifá Festival 2026 in Ile-Ife, he expressed deep concern over rising insecurity (kidnappings, banditry) and urged President Bola Tinubu to harness the contributions of indigenous faith communities for nation-building and peace. The Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, called on Babalawo and Ifá practitioners worldwide to continue supporting efforts to restore peace and security in Nigeria.
