Iran says it will play at 2026 World Cup if hosts address ‘concerns’

Iran's football federation announced that the men's national team will participate in the 2026 World Cup but has set conditions for the joint hosts, the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The demands include respect for the team's staff, flag, and national anthem, as well as security assurances. FFIRI President Mehdi Taj stated that Tehran has ten conditions for attending the tournament, following recent incidents related to alleged links with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
