Iranian Nobel laureate Narges Mohammadi hospitalised as health deteriorates

Narges Mohammadi, an Iranian human rights activist and 2023 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, has been transferred from prison to a hospital due to a severe decline in her health. She experienced two episodes of loss of consciousness and a severe cardiac crisis. Imprisoned since December 12, Mohammadi was sentenced to over seven years in prison, partly for charges of 'gathering and collusion to commit crimes'. Her family reported that her health has worsened, exacerbated by alleged mistreatment during her arrest.
