Iraqi president nominates Ali al-Zaidi as PM-designate

Iraq's newly elected president, Nizar Amede, nominated businessman Ali al-Zaidi as the prime minister-designate after he was endorsed by the country's main Shia alliance. This nomination follows support from the Coordination Framework, which had initially backed Nouri al-Maliki but shifted after threats from US President Donald Trump.
