Israel and Lebanon agree to conditional ceasefire

Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a conditional ceasefire following US-led talks in Washington, DC. The agreement requires a complete cessation of fire by Hezbollah and the creation of 'pilot zones' where the Lebanese army will have exclusive control, excluding all non-state actors. Despite the agreement, Israeli strikes killed at least 10 people in southern Lebanon on the same day, and Hezbollah continued targeting Israeli soldiers. An Al Jazeera correspondent noted that Hezbollah, not part of the negotiations, remains a wild card.
