Israel Imposes Travel Ban on Kenya, Uganda & 3 Other Countries Over Ebola Outbreak

Israel has banned entry to nationals from five African countries, including Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, following an Ebola outbreak. The directive, dated June 10, 2026, also applies to foreigners who have visited those countries within 21 days before travel. Airlines must screen passengers before boarding. Israeli citizens and residents are exempt.

On June 12, 2026, the National Institute for Training of Health Workers (INFAS) in Abidjan-Treichville launched the 6th edition of the Excellence Dafra competition, in partnership with Dafra Pharma. The competition aims to promote excellence, merit, and innovation among future health professionals. Candidates from eight INFAS branches in Côte d'Ivoire will compete on three themes: digital health and security, eloquence on preventing sexual violence, and art therapy on mental health. The winner of the eloquence contest will represent Côte d'Ivoire at the regional competition in December 2026, where eight Francophone African countries will compete for prizes up to 1 million FCFA.
