Trump warned that keeping troops fueled tensions and risked escalation. Netanyahu defended the need for security zones along borders. The call follows a meeting between Trump and Syrian transitional president Ahmed al-Charaa in Ankara, and a framework agreement signed on June 26 between Israel and Lebanon for withdrawal from pilot zones, which has not yet been implemented.
