Ivory Coast: A 3.4 billion FCFA program for biodiversity and climate preservation

The Integrated Net-Zero Nature-Positive (NZNP) program was launched on April 2, 2026, in Abidjan with a funding of 3.4 billion FCFA. Supported by the GEF and implemented by the UNDP, the project aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 33.07% by 2035 and transform agricultural practices in thirteen regions affected by deforestation. Among its objectives are the reforestation of 1.5 million hectares and the implementation of sustainable practices on 75% of rice-growing areas.
