Rivers United returned to the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League with a 1-0 home victory over Plateau United at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt. Wisdom Samuel's 11th-minute goal secured the win, bringing Finidi George's side to 58 points from 34 matches. Wikki Tourists also achieved an away win, defeating Bayelsa United 1-0 with a goal from Imamu Bala in the 67th minute.
