IEBC Registers Over 2.3 Million New Voters, Rules Out 30 Day Extension

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) registered 2,345,476 new voters during the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) exercise from March 30 to April 28, 2026. Although the target of 2.5 million registrations was not met, the IEBC considered the initiative a success due to operational changes that improved accessibility. Key among these changes was the introduction of the open kit strategy, allowing voters to register at any center, thus eliminating geographical restrictions.
