Yaoundé Bus Rapid Transit: start of works announced for 2029 with operation in 2031

Construction of the Yaoundé Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) network, called Transyaoundé, will start in 2029 and be operational by 2031. The preparatory phase was launched on September 23, 2026, revising the initial schedule of 2026-2028, with support from the EU and AFD. The detailed preliminary design is scheduled for 2027 as part of the Green Mobility project of Yaoundé.
