Kwango: How MSF Organizes the Response to Cholera in Popokabaka

Since June 1, 2026, Popokabaka has been facing a cholera epidemic, with 864 cases reported as of August 24 among a population of 285,585. Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has strengthened patient care by establishing a cholera treatment center and six treatment units. Care is free and includes food support. Patients are triaged based on their level of dehydration to ensure appropriate care.
