NRC, NSCDC foil railway vandalism attempt in Osogbo

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) thwarted an attempt to vandalize railway track materials in Osogbo, Osun State. The incident was reported on August 28, 2026, and the suspects fled upon the arrival of security personnel. Nine oxygen gas cylinders, allegedly used for the vandalism, were recovered from the site. NRC Managing Director Dr. Kayode Opeifa praised the prompt intervention of security agents and called for increased surveillance of railway infrastructure.
