The Federal Government of Nigeria has warned telecommunications operators to improve service quality or face regulatory sanctions. Minister of Communications, Dr. Bosun Tijani, stated that the country's connectivity issues are largely structural, stemming from years of underinvestment. He noted that the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) would be responsible for monitoring performance and enforcing sanctions on defaulting operators.
