Jailed Senegalese fans deny wrongdoing in AFCON final chaos

Eighteen Senegalese football supporters convicted for a pitch invasion during the chaotic Africa Cup of Nations final in Rabat in January have denied any wrongdoing. A Moroccan court sentenced them in February to prison terms ranging from three to 12 months for hooliganism. The supporters argued they were forced onto the pitch due to a surging crowd, not to protest a refereeing decision. The Confederation of African Football reversed Senegal's win, awarding the title to Morocco.
