Parents open criminal cases over alleged abuse at Soneike High School

Parents at Soneike High School in Kuils River have filed criminal cases alleging intimidation, assault and learner victimisation, accusing school authorities of failing to protect their children despite years of complaints. One mother says her son was assaulted by a senior staff member on July 24 and faced further intimidation after she opened a case; she also raised concerns that staff questioning learners could interfere with witness statements. Another parent has called for an independent investigation after alleging her daughter was raped by a Grade 12 learner on August 7 and intimidated at a school meeting on October 6. Vanessa Le Roux, founder of Parents for Equal Education SA, accompanied parents to Kuils River police station; registered cases include intimidation and defeating the course of justice.

The document, issued in the name of Mariam Ba, also known as Nourah, was reportedly sent to Dakar and received by one of her brothers.
