Ballon d’Or: After His Triumph, Harry Kane Takes a Swipe at Mbappé Without Naming Him in a Post

After winning his first Ballon d’Or in 2026, Harry Kane posted on X: “Work hard in silence. Let success be your noise.” The message was interpreted as a swipe at Kylian Mbappé, who had given numerous interviews to make his case and said no player had had a better season than him. The Real Madrid forward had also said he would vote for himself. Kane was more reserved in his public comments and scored 73 goals in all competitions during the 2025–2026 season.
