Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, pledged to declare a state of emergency in security, education and electricity if elected in 2027. At a town hall meeting in Kwanga, Nasarawa State, he promised to deliver 10,000 megawatts of electricity within four years and provide free, compulsory schooling. Obi’s running mate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, urged voters to support the NDC ticket in the 2027 elections.
