‘I’m an entrepreneur; my money not from Sanwo-Olu’ — Aisha Achimugu

Aisha Achimugu, founder of Oceangate Engineering Oil & Gas Ltd, denied that her wealth is linked to her association with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, asserting she has been an entrepreneur since 2001. She gained national attention in January 2024 during a lavish birthday celebration in Grenada. In March 2026, a federal court ordered the forfeiture of $13 million allegedly linked to her firm, which she is currently appealing. Achimugu also stated that only $50,000 and 13 million naira belonging to her mother were found during a raid on her home.
