Jerusalem: the Via Dolorosa almost deserted for Good Friday

In Jerusalem, the Via Dolorosa, usually crowded with worshippers for Good Friday, was remarkably empty this year. The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem canceled some traditional processions and limited masses to fewer than fifty participants for security reasons. Worshippers expressed their disappointment at these restrictions, while Father Simon D’aotigue emphasized the suffering of Christians in the Middle East.
