World Oceans Day: RJICCE Urges Government to Formalize Creation of ANAGIL

On June 8, 2026, World Oceans Day, the Network of Ivorian Journalists against Climate and Environmental Crisis (RJICCE) urges the Ivorian government to operationalize the National Agency for Integrated Coastal Management (ANAGIL). Sea level rise, accelerating to about 4 mm/year, threatens coastal areas. In Grand Bassam, the Atlantic Ocean overflowed in August 2024, affecting 227 to 304 households.
