Judge Taswell Papier: A pillar of justice in South Africa

Judge Taswell Papier of the Western Cape High Court has passed away, leaving behind a legacy rooted in human rights and access to justice. He began his legal journey at UWC in the politically charged 1980s and later earned a Master's Degree in Human Rights Law from Harvard. Papier represented thousands during the apartheid era and played a pioneering role in expanding access to justice, notably by piloting pro bono programs in the legal profession.
