Presence of Rwandan troops in eastern DRC: Joseph Nkoy calls on Washington to enforce its ultimatum

With the July 15, 2026 deadline set by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio for the withdrawal of Rwandan forces now passed, Rwandan troops remain present in eastern DRC, according to Congolese authorities and the UN. National deputy Joseph Nkoy, deputy rapporteur of the Defense and Security Committee, calls on the United States to enforce the peace agreement signed on June 27, 2025 in Washington. He denounces Rwanda's contempt for the international community and its determination to destabilize the Great Lakes region.
