Video: Tinubu departs Abuja for Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu departed Abuja on Thursday aboard an Airbus A330-200 for Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to perform Umrah. He is expected to return to Nigeria next week after the pilgrimage, which his aide said would include prayer and spiritual reflection for the country’s peace, unity and stability. Six state governors, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Justice Minister Lateef Fagbemi and Nigeria’s ambassador to Mexico, Reno Omokri, saw him off at the airport. It is Tinubu’s second Umrah trip to Makkah since taking office in May 2023.
