Umahi gives condition for reopening of First Niger Bridge - Daily Post Nigeria

Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, stated that the First Niger Bridge will not be reopened until major structural rehabilitation works are completed. He emphasized that the Federal Government will not be pressured into reopening the bridge until critical structural components have been properly repaired. The bridge was closed for emergency repairs after vandalized components, including bolts, nuts, and parts of its expansion-joint steelwork, were discovered, and its reopening has been delayed by one week due to persistent rainfall.
