President Bola Tinubu will be in Lagos on October 1 to celebrate Nigeria's 66th Independence Day, traveling from Abuja. His media aide, Bayo Onanuga, announced he will attend the premiere of a movie honoring Abiola, the winner of the June 1993 election, at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre in Iganmu, Lagos. During his stay, he is also expected to hold strategic meetings with political leaders ahead of the 2027 elections and will address the nation from Lagos in a low-key celebration.
