Kemi Seba: Who is the anti-colonial activist grabbing attention in West Africa?

Anti-colonial activist Kemi Seba is currently detained in South Africa after being arrested while allegedly attempting to flee to Europe via Zimbabwe. At 45 years old, he is wanted in Benin for allegedly inciting rebellion following a foiled coup in December 2025. Born in Strasbourg to Beninese parents, Seba is known for his opposition to French influence in Africa and has been involved in several radical movements, including Tribu Ka, which was banned in France.
