KeNHA Asks Residents to Vacate Ahead of Ruiru-Githunguri Road Construction

The Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA) has asked residents living along the Ruiru-Githunguri Uplands Highway to voluntarily vacate the road reserve to pave way for the construction project. Resident Engineer Maxwell Kamwana urged encroachers to move out during a public forum on June 3, 2026. The government has awarded the contract to a Chinese company. If residents do not vacate, a 30-day notice will be issued before forceful eviction.
