Kenya: Opposition Unveils 'People's Budget', Accuses Ruto Govt of Economic Mismanagement

Kenya's opposition coalition, under the United Alternative Government banner, unveiled a 'People's Budget' alternative for 2026/2027, criticizing President William Ruto's administration for economic mismanagement. Opposition leader Kalonzo Musyoka accused the government of deepening the debt crisis and burdening citizens, with a proposed Ksh4.82 trillion budget and a deficit of over Ksh1 trillion. The opposition also decried underfunding of free education and the SHA healthcare system.
