Kenya Power Warns Standby Appliances Could Be Increasing Your Electricity Bill

Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has warned that household appliances left in standby mode can account for up to 10% of electricity consumption. The main culprits include TVs, decoders, smart speakers, freezers, and gaming consoles. KPLC advises unplugging devices or using power strips with switches to cut power supply.
