Kenya Railways Corporation is set to reopen a 127-kilometer metre-gauge railway line linking Voi to the Tanzanian border at Taveta, reviving a corridor that has been largely idle since 2005. President William Ruto will officially launch the project, aimed at enhancing cross-border trade and supporting the region's sisal plantations and mining sector. Originally built by British forces during World War I, the line will be integrated with the modern SGR network, facilitating the movement of goods southward.
