Kenyan Shilling Surges 4.1% Against Dollar in 2025 Amid New Outlook - KNBS Report

The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) report indicates that the Kenyan shilling appreciated by 4.1% against the US dollar in 2025, decreasing from Ksh134.82 in 2024 to Ksh129.30. This recovery was driven by improving foreign exchange conditions and an economic growth rate of 4.6%, falling short of President William Ruto's target of 5.6%. The shilling also gained against the Pound Sterling and Japanese Yen, with a notable 8.0% increase against the Indian Rupee.
